Provo WMA is a leased land WMA, meaning hunters, trappers and campers 16 years of age or older must purchase a Provo WMA leased lands permit (LPR) along with a free annual General Use Permit (WMP). Permits are available online by clicking “Buy Licenses” at agfc.com or by calling 833-345-0325 or any regional office.

Deer Alternative Firearms: Oct. 19-27 and Dec. 21-23.
Deer Modern Gun: Nov. 9-20 (no dogs), Nov. 23-Dec. 4 (dogs allowed) and Dec. 26-28 (no dogs).
Deer Modern Gun Special Youth Hunt: Nov. 2-3 and Jan. 4-5.
WMA Deer Bag Limit: Four deer, no more than two bucks, which may include:
- Two bucks with archery,
- Four does with archery,
- One buck and one doe with alternative firearms,
- One buck and one doe with modern gun,
- During youth hunt, youths may take two deer, one buck (no antler restrictions) and one doe.

Access
Access points are located along Hwy. 71 north of Lockesburg, along Hwy. 70 between the Hwy 71 Jct. and Dierks, and along Provo road.

The area was established as a WMA in 1999.

Camping
Camping is permitted on the area at designated campsites.
Description
This area is located on a ridge between the Cossatot and Saline Rivers and primarily consists of intensively managed pine timberlands and mixed pine/hardwood tracts.
Hunting Opportunities
Deer, quail, turkey, squirrel, and rabbits. See current regulations for seasons and permit requirements.
Location
It is in Sevier County, about 3 miles northeast of Lockesburg.
Management Practices
Wildlife management practices are integrated with timber management practices to provide quality wildlife habitat and hunting opportunities. These management practices provide substantial open land habitats and stimulate excellent browse production.

This area consists of approximately 11,000 acres of Weyerhaeuser Company land.

Purpose

Recreation Other Than Hunting
Dierks Lake offers good fishing opportunities and is approximately 4 miles north. Pond Creek NWR and Millwood Lake are approximately 10 miles south.
Restaurants and Other Facilities
Facilities are located in Lockesburg, DeQueen, and Dierks. Corp of Engineer campgrounds at Dierks Lake.
Safety
Due to the large network of Weyerhaeuser roads that run throughout the area it is recommended that anyone not familiar with the area obtain an area map from the AGFC.
