Ownership
Potlatch owns the area, but the AGFC, Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, The Nature Conservancy and the Arkansas Forestry Commission joined together in 2006 to purchase a conservation easement to allow hunting and public access to 16,000 acres. (A conservation easement is a voluntary, legal agreement placed on a piece of property that limits certain types of uses or prevents development from taking place now and in the future, but enables the landowner to retain ownership.)
