LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is hosting a series of fun events to say “Thank you for your contribution to conservation” from Oct. 8-13 at nature centers around the state.
With the heat of summer hopefully in the rearview mirror, it’s time to get back outside and enjoy all that nature has to offer. Hunting seasons are kicking off, and fish are beginning to get active near the shoreline again. The fall color change also offers fantastic views of landscapes throughout The Natural State for hikers, bikers and wildlife watchers.
The following special events are being planned in addition to regular nature center programming. Visit https://www.agfc.com/en/education/calendar/public-event/conservation-appreciation-week/ to learn more.

Participate in a venison chili and cheese dip cook-off and tasting. Participants have to compete in both categories to be eligible for the grand prize.
