LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas Wildlife, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s award-winning television show, is back with new segments and episodes just in time for fall and hunting seasons. The 13-episode Fall 2020 season started this past weekend and concludes Dec. 27.
Arkansas Wildlife highlights hunting and fishing opportunities across The Natural State, as well as the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s conservation efforts. This week’s episode includes segments about a new initiative in which AGFC and its partners are identifying stream barriers around the state and working with willing landowners to remove them and restore stream connectivity that benefits fish and improves water quality. There are also segments on the AGFC Stream Team Program’s work to improve the wild and scenic Mulberry River and a smallmouth bass fishing segment on the Caddo River.
Other episodes this fall will feature fly fishing for trout on the Little Red River, foraging for wild chanterelle mushrooms, genetic research on Arkansas white-tailed deer, AGFC habitat work, duck hunting with a Hall of Fame Labrador retriever, woodcock hunting, deer hunting and much more. The fall season also includes several wild cooking segments, highlighting the culinary joys of the field-to-table lifestyle in Arkansas.
Arkansas Wildlife airs at 5:30 a.m. Saturday on KFTA Channel 24 (Fox) in the northwest Arkansas television market, as well as 9 a.m. Sunday on KARZ Channel 42 and 11 p.m. Sunday on KARK Channel 4 (NBC) in the central Arkansas market. Viewers interested in digitally recording the show should keep in mind that the Sunday night broadcast on KARK often airs later than scheduled because of NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
Segments from the show are also available at any time on the Arkansas Wildlife YouTube channel. An easy link to the channel may be found at www.arkansaswildlife.com.
