CANEHILL – Historic Cane Hill, in cooperation with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, will unveil the winners of the 2025 Arkansas Quail and Turkey Stamp Art Competition at 3 p.m., March 15 in the Historic Cane Hill Gallery at a free reception to celebrate the opening of this year’s Arkansas Quail and Turkey Stamp Art Exhibition.

In addition to being featured on the official Northern Bobwhite Conservation Stamp and Eastern Wild Turkey Conservation Stamp. The winner of each category will earn $2,500 and be the featured pieces in a month-long exhibition at Historic Cane Hill Gallery.

“We’re thrilled with the response and participation in this national competition,” Vanessa McKuin, Historic Cane Hill executive director, said. “This year, we had submissions from 87 artists from 28 states, including 24 cities in Arkansas.

“We are grateful to be part of this program and to have such strong partners in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission,” McKuin said. “This partnership and program is one of the ways in which Historic Cane Hill fulfills our mission to be a place where people can connect with the arts, Ozark history and culture, and nature.”

The Arkansas Quail and Turkey Stamp Art Exhibition will be on display in the Historic Cane Hill Gallery from March 15 to April 19. Also on display are turkey calls made by nationally-recognized call makers Don and Sarah Clark.

Historic Cane Hill partners with the AGFC and the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation to issue a nationwide call to artists for original art to be featured on the Arkansas Northern Bobwhite Conservation Stamp and Eastern Wild Turkey Conservation Stamp each year. A panel of jurors judge each piece based on artistic quality as well as accuracy in depicting northern bobwhite and eastern wild turkey and their habitats.

Other events associated with the Quail and Turkey Stamp Exhibition include a free quail habitat restoration tour at 1 p.m. March 15 and a quail dinner at 6 p.m. March 29. To register for the tour or purchase tickets to the quail dinner, visit www.historiccanehillar.org.

The AGFC combines the proceeds from voluntary quail and turkey stamp purchases to rehabilitate and enhance upland habitat in Arkansas that benefits northern bobwhite, eastern wild turkey and a host of other ground-nesting birds and grassland wildlife species. Since their inception, these voluntary stamps have helped raise more than $2.2 million worth of habitat work for quail and turkeys through 54 projects, all on public land in Arkansas.
