Arkansas Duck Stamp artwork to be revealed at Callapalooza 2022

STUTTGART — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation will celebrate Gov. Asa Hutchinson’s unveiling of the artwork to be featured on the 2022-23 Arkansas State Duck Stamp at 11:30 a.m., June 4 in Stuttgart. The unveiling will be coordinated with the annual event known as Callapalooza, which celebrates the art of duck call-making.

Arkansas’s state duck stamp was created in 1981 by renowned wildlife artist Lee LeBlanc, a name that may be familiar with waterfowl hunters on Rex Hancock Black Swamp Wildlife Management Area, as it appears on the name of a waterfowl rest area there. In recent years, more than 100,000 state duck stamps have been sold annually, deriving more than $1 million for conservation in The Natural State. While the Federal Migratory Bird Stamp must be carried on a hunter’s person and signed in ink across the face, Arkansas’s state duck stamp no longer carries that requirement. However, the AGFC and AGFF continue to honor the tradition of the state duck stamp artwork as well as the contributions of hunters and waterfowl enthusiasts to wetland and waterfowl conservation.
