Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center invites women interested in outdoor pursuits to connect and share their experiences, plan adventures and put into practice the skills they have learned. Jan. 13 | A Hiking Story with Ann Owen and David Jacobs – the Ouachita Trail
Ann and David will share how they prepared, what the hike was like and what they might have done differently.
Feb. 10 | Duck Calling with Lana Van Winkle
Guest speaker Lana Van Winkle has a passion for bowhunting for white-tailed deer, as well as turkey hunting, duck hunting and fishing. She won the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Women’s World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest in Stuttgart, and helps women across the country find their passions for the outdoors. Joins us and practice your call.
March 9 | Safety in the Outdoors with Wildlife Officer Rick Fields
Take part in a discussion about safety and March 9 wildlife regulations to consider on your next hunting, fishing or outdoor outing.
April 13 | Sunset Paddle and Fishing on Lake Conway
We’re taking the classroom to the water for an evening of kayaking fishing. Need a boat? No problem. We will have some available. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a kayak while spots are available.
May 11 | Archery
Target practice outside. Basic instruction and equipment will be provided. This program depends on the weather.
