LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a special open forum for the public at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana campus on March 18. The forum will begin at 6 p.m. in Hempstead Hall, 2500 S. Main St., in Hope.
The AGFC hosted three open town hall meetings during 2019, and this will be the first scheduled for 2020.
This forum will take on a different look than previous town hall meetings. Instead of Commissioners sitting in front of a crowd to answer questions, they and various AGFC staff will be stationed at tables throughout the room to answer questions on a one-on-one level.
“We received some excellent participation from the public at the last three meetings,” AGFC Director Pat Fitts said. “We hope to offer even more time for individual questions and engagement with the public through this new format. Everyone will still be able to talk directly to Commissioners or staff, but we hope this gives a much more personal environment where people can speak freely.”
Brief presentations are planned before the open question period. Anyone who wishes to speak is encouraged to attend.
Visit the AGFC’s YouTube page for a recap of questions and answers during the previous three meetings. A direct link to the Stuttgart meeting, held in November, is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9B7_7iehas.
