ROGERS — Trout Unlimited, the nation’s oldest and largest coldwater conservation organization, is holding its annual meeting in Rogers this week.
Hosted by the Arkansas TU council, the meeting will bring together more than 200 TU staff members and volunteer leaders for several days of meetings and informational sessions.
The event starts today with a fishing outing, during which local hosts will guide visitors on the region’s world-famous trout streams, including the Beaver and White rivers. Thursday will feature a conservation tour highlighting advocacy and habitat work that helps make those tailwater fisheries so productive.
Friday and Saturday meetings at the Embassy Suites Northwest Arkansas Hotel, Spa & Convention Center will focus on conservation and advocacy priorities, including issues such as diversity, native trout and climate change. At a Friday night banquet, TU will honor several of its most dedicated volunteers and supporters. Saturday morning, TU President and CEO will present his annual State of TU presentation, highlighting some of the many success stories for TU and its 300,000 members and supporters. TU will livestream the presentation on Facebook.
