Floating salad bars, lizard lounges featured in December Wild Science webinar series
ON 12-20-2023
LITTLE ROCK — Habitat is the focus of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Wild Science webinar episode for December. Fisheries biologist Sean Lusk takes the first segment of the webisode to the water to explore the work being done at DeGray Lake in southwest Arkansas to reestablish aquatic vegetation for bass, crappie and other sport fish. The webisode then does a 180 and explores the AGFC’s effort to reintroduce collared lizards into restored glade habitat in the Ozark Plateau of northwestern Arkansas. Dr. Casey Brewster, a research scholar for the University of Arkansas, gives his summary of a fascinating tale to bring back the eastern collared lizard, a species of greatest conservation need, through a partnership among the university, the AGFC and the Little Rock Zoo.
