LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Wildlife Podcast team caught up with AGFC Education Program Specialist Morgan Gantt and her friend and AGFC volunteer Kristen Brown and talked about Kristen’s first successful turkey hunt during the 2023 season.
Turkey hunters managed to check an impressive 9,193 birds this spring, which was a 21 percent increase from the year before and the first harvest over the 9,000-bird mark since 2017. Although Kristen had hunted for turkeys before this season, this was her first year to connect with a bird, and with her friend’s help she accomplished this feat on some of Arkansas’s public hunting land.
